It might be a corruption/bug in the Default workspace itself.
Mine won't crash with my normal custom workspace until I expand the CSS Designer to two columns (and then I get maybe 1 of 3 attempts to crash).
I changed my workspace to Default, and blammo, it crashes just as explained each time.
I switched back to my custom workspace and it stops.
